Craig Whiteside scribblings...about the author

Well hello there, I hope you are well. I'll start by introducing myself. My name is Craig R Whiteside. I was going to put a pseudonym in there but decided I couldn't think of a better name. I live in a town in Lancashire, England called Blackburn. It's only eight miles or so from my birthplace, Whalley, a large village in the Ribble Valley.

In between being born at a very early age 30 years ago, and now, I have amused myself with lots of different activities. Some have been good, some haven't, but on the whole I am pleased with the results so far. These days I tend to spend my time sifting through the financial woes of others by putting their accounts in order. I like to be helpful. The rest of the time in my town centre flat is spent reading, 'playing' acoustic guitar and listening to all kinds of music. This can literally be anything from Mozart to Metallica - draw your own conclusions. Anyway, my pet rats don't seem to mind as long as I continue to feed them. There are seven of them in total, being, Ronnie, Reggie, Stanley, Freddie, Archie, Eric and Otto, but they appear to have few hobbies themselves.

My other pastimes include swimming at the local pool and general socialising stuff. My newest pastime appears to be 'writing poems', which is quite amazing since I have not done any writing of this sort since school 15 years ago. I started this at the instigation of a certain lady friend of mine, resident of the United States. The results, whilst raw and innocent, appeared to hold some quaint charm of their own, so I was encouraged to continue.

It is one day my intention to visit the United States, maybe even settle down there. In so doing perhaps I can reduce my phone bill and get some rest! This eight hour time difference between us is quite challenging. Well, that's enough from me, if you read the poems, great, I hope you like them. If not, never mind, nobody would hold it against you.
